Lambert Smith Hampton - Retail - London W1, Oxford Street
Date: 14 Feb 2000
Following an exhaustive search, Aroma, the McDonalds coffee shop division, have taken a pre-letting at the proposed redevelopment of 91-101 Oxford Street.
The block is owned by SLC Langbourn who have been buying-in the various existing Leases since they purchased the block in 1997. The proposed scheme will provide two large Oxford Street units and two smaller units on Great Chapel Street. In addition, Crest of London and Eurochange are to remain at the block but within larger units.
Aroma have taken a prominent unit on the corner of Great Chapel Street comprising 1,000 sq ft on the ground and 1,200 sq ft in the basement paying £245,000 per annum. Hayler Osborne and Lambert Smith Hampton are marketing the remaining units and are believed to be in serious negotiations with a number of interested parties. Erol Ezen of Lambert Smith Hampton comments: to have attracted a retailer of Aroma's quality at such a rental reinforces the continuing importance of this eastern section of Oxford Street. It also demonstrates again that demand still exists for these medium sized units in a street which is becoming dominated by the mega stores".
