Culverwell - Retail - Edinburgh, Princes Mall

Date: 16 Feb 2000

City of Edinburgh Council has granted an application by Scottish Metropolitan for change of use for the proposed extension to Princes Mall, Edinburgh.

This will allow an existing unit to be redeveloped to create a large unit in excess of 15,000 sq ft (1,394 sq m). Discussions now require to be progressed with City of Edinburgh Council as owners of the land in order that work can commence in the latter part of this year.

Alex Culverwell, Senior Partner of Culverwell and Company, letting agents, comments:

"Along with the proposed redevelopment of the food court, this proposal will allow retailers to occupy larger space within the centre, which is currently in short supply in Edinburgh and Princes Mall in particular. New fashion retailers to Edinburgh are likely to be attracted when this space is created."
