Space Solutions - Offices Development - Glasgow & Edinburgh, Scotland
Date: 04 Jan 2008
Scottish architecture and space planning practice Space Solutions has secured a string of design and build contracts totaling £750,000 across the central belt in recent weeks.
Among the high profile refurbishment projects the company has won are contracts with British Waterways and Change Recruitment, both based in Glasgow, and a project for chartered accountants Grant Thornton in Edinburgh.
For the first time in 20 years, office rental costs in Glasgow and Edinburgh are neck and neck, according to recent research. The tight property market has seen office availability in Glasgow reach a 10-year low this year while developments worth around £6billion are planned across Edinburgh.
"With commercial space in such short supply, many organisations are investing heavily in revitalising their existing facilities as they become increasingly aware that design, optimum use of space and quality staff facilities can give them a competitive edge," said Space Solutions director Derek Binnie.
"Securing these latest contracts is an endorsement of our experience and expertise in internal refurbishment which is our core business. They not only underline the ability of Space Solutions to provide a comprehensive in-house property service for projects of all sizes, from design and planning to managing and implementing, but clearly demonstrate how popular our full turnkey service is among our central belt client base."
Space Solutions has grown to become one of the leading and most innovative providers of its kind in Scotland, delivering an all-encompassing property solution service. It operates UK-wide to design, build and relocate modern and productive business environments.
The company staged a management buy out in July following one of the most successful years in its 10 year history in which turnover rocketed to more than £10million.
