Date: 22 Feb 2008

Ged Crooks, advised by Savills, has sold Lakes Court Hotel in Carlisle to Hallmark Hotel Group for an undisclosed sum.

The Victorian hotel, which incorporates 70 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant, bar, six conference rooms and a ballroom, is located in a prime city centre location in Carlisle fronting the historic Court Square. It is also set adjacent to Carlisle Citadel Parkway rail station and within close proximity to the M6 motorway.

Alistair Greenhalgh, associate director at Savills' Manchester office, comments: "There was considerable interest in this well positioned hotel from a wide variety of buyers including private, corporate and investment teams and this sale emphasises the positive trend in the market for high quality hotels in primary locations."
