Humberts - Offices Sale - Swalecliffe, St Augustine's Business Park
Date: 04 Mar 2008
Humberts' Canterbury office has successfully sold a modern detached warehouse near Whitstable for more than £1 million.
The property on St Augustine's Business Park in Swalecliffe was sold to Rally Design, a specialist in professional motor car parts and spares.
The vendor and previous occupier, Hellyar Plastics - the UK's leading independent compounder and distributor of thermoplastics - undertook a strategic review of its business with help from Humberts commercial director William Hinckley, leading to a decision to rationalise its premises
The 16,105 sq ft site comprises a modern detached warehouse of steel portal frame construction, having 25 ft eaves, modern cladding, three loading doors and a secure fenced yard of approximately one acre.
William Hinckley said: "I am delighted that we have been able to help Hellyar Plastics to successfully rationalise their premises, whilst also attracting a new occupier from outside the district.
"We continue to experience a good level of demand for freehold buildings and this is one of the best buildings of its type to have come to the market for some time.
"Commercial property continues to offer a good long-term investment and for owner-managed businesses the opportunity to combine an operational base with a business asset are compelling."
Humberts is now instructed by Rally Design, which has relocated from Faversham, to let 5,000 sq ft of surplus space at the building.
St Augustine's Business Park benefits from excellent road access to the A2990/A299 with connections to the northbound M2 motorway and A2 to the south.
