Date: 01 Apr 2008

An independent Leicester-based manufacturer of high precision tacks and nails has taken on new facilities at the former Pollard Factory on Kitchener Road, Leicester.

IVI Metallics have relocated from the British United Shoe Machinery Site in Belgrave to their new premises that provide them with the space they require and much improved production facilities.

Commercial Property Agent Innes England acted for Mahal Properties Ltd to market and let the site that extends to over 58,000 sq ft. Historically a manufacturing plant the site offers five bays with additional modern office facilities.

Steve Scott from Innes England said: "This is the largest letting to a manufacturing company in Leicester for some time, and is a positive sign for the prosperity of the local market."

"There were limited opportunities close to the City to acquire a suitable factory of this size. The move will take IVI only a few miles from their existing premises, which is a huge benefit as they will retain their entire workforce and will reduce many of the issues associated with relocation," he concluded.

Graham Burger from IVI said: "Our old site was in the Leicester Regeneration Area so at some stage we knew we would have to source new premises.

"Our customers rely on the high quality of our tacks and nails to ensure their own machinery works efficiently so we are really pleased to have found a site that fits our requirements so close to our existing facilities."
