Savills - Mixed-Use Development - West Bromwich, Staffordshire
Date: 17 Apr 2008
RegenCo has appointed Savills to advise on its regeneration of the High Street and Bull Street in West Bromwich.
Savills will act as development consultant on the proposed £120 million mixed-use scheme which is known as Eastern Gateway, while Glancy Nicholls architects have been appointed to complete the design brief.
The new development totals 4.2 hectares (10 acres) and will incorporate a residential element, revitalised retail frontages and new, highly specified office space.
Karen Walker at RegenCo comments: "Eastern Gateway in West Bromwich is set to inject new life and vitality into an area that is currently in need of regeneration. The residential element will set a new standard for housing developments in the area and is expected to act as a catalyst for a city living market in West Bromwich town centre. This is the next phase of a dramatic change taking place in West Bromwich centre. "
Barry Allen, director at Savills, adds: "We are looking forward to working with RegenCo and Glancy Nicholls to create an exciting and challenging development brief to take the site through the market. The new scheme will really enhance the town's appeal to homebuyers, shoppers, companies and investors alike, whilst also setting a new benchmark for future developments."
RegenCo is working alongside partners national regeneration agency English Partnerships, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and Urban Living.
