Humberts - Offices Letting - Corsham, Wiltshire
Date: 22 Apr 2008
Pickwick Park, a commercial property development with a difference in Wiltshire, is already proving popular with some of the region's brightest young businesses.
The latest occupant of Pickwick Park, a unique architecturally-driven high-tech office campus in Corsham, is accountancy and IT firm Aylmer-Kelly.
The company has just taken on a first floor suite of leasehold offices. It joins a growing cluster of businesses relishing the opportunity to create a prestigious working environment in a rural location.
Pickwick Park is being marketed through Humberts' Chippenham office jointly with Kavanaghs of Melksham and is the vision of former England rugby star John Hall. It may be his first scrummage into the commercial property arena but his dream of creating a workplace with a difference for his own business has grown into a project which has delivered 12 units totalling some 16,000 sq ft of offices which are available to rent or buy.
The campus is fully landscaped and the design of the building includes impressive facades and glazing features which reflect its location in the historic and picturesque village of Corsham.
"John has captured a niche in the regional commercial market place and the selling price of these properties has reflected that," commented Daniel Lord of Humberts. "His dream of creating a unique working space for his own business which he could both invest in and occupy combined with his entrepreneurial flair has resulted in a unique high-tech development which has incorporated many local architectural features.
"Modern small businesses are continuing to view freehold ownership as an investment opportunity and Pickwick Park is undoubtedly appealing to like-minded company owners of whom there is a rich vein along the A4 corridor."
Previously owned by the council, the Coach House at Pickwick Park and the three quarters of an acre of land and low-grade industrial units surrounding it, have been transformed into a bespoke business oasis with a distinct character and its own parking.
"I am delighted that this first commercial property venture is already proving such a huge success," added John. "The Coach House is a magnificent building and to have been able to transform it and the grounds in which it is sitting into what I hope will be a truly thriving business community is very exciting.
"I wanted to be able to put my own design into the building I operate my businesses from and there is a modern breed of like-minded business owners that want to be able to put their own brand on their offices too. Location and a bespoke working environment is a vital part of what we all want from our working life.
"To have taken an area which was lifeless for a long time, obtain planning permission and now see the fruits of that labour being taken to the market is rewarding."
