Humberts - Offices Development - Canterbury, Kent

Date: 23 Apr 2008

Humberts has been appointed to market The Office Connection - the first truly speculative office development to be undertaken in Canterbury for over 15 years.

The development, part of Fairview New Homes' mixed-use development at St Andrews Close opposite the city walls, will provide around 14,000 sq ft of contemporary office space in two new buildings. Construction has just started, with completion anticipated towards the end of 2008.

Humberts' Canterbury office has been appointed as joint agent with Strutt & Parker to promote the scheme, being the final phase of the development which also includes some 260 homes on the edge of the city.

Both buildings are prominently positioned at the entrance to the development and have private covered car parking at ground floor level. Building A is a 9,500 sq ft three-storey building whilst building C is a 4,300 sq ft building.

Both buildings are offered for sale on a "virtual freehold" basis and will be finished to a good modern standard to include a lift, central heating, double glazing and modern lighting.

"We are delighted to be involved with this exciting new development. Not only is this Canterbury's first speculative office development for over 15 years, but the buildings are also being offered for sale. Such opportunities are in scarce supply," commented Humberts' director Will Hinckley. "Not only will these offices have a strong profile location on the city's ring road and opposite the historic city walls, but they will also be within walking distance of the city centre, the railway station, bus station and public car parks.

"Once completed the buildings at the Office Connection will provide some of the best offices available in the city with modern open plan floors finished to a high standard. And obviously with construction only just starting there is scope for the finishes to be tailored to suit the owner's requirements, making this a hugely flexible option too."
