Date: 30 Apr 2008

Savills Germany has agreed a three-year sponsorship of the Real Estate Management Institute's (REMI) valuation research programme at the European Business School (EBS).

The research, which investigates problematical issues in the real estate valuation sector, will examine adaptation of accounting regulations to international standards, the growth of innovative financing structures and the development of new real estate investment products.

Professor Dr. Matthias Thomas, chairman of the Real Estate Management Foundation at REMI, says: "The increase in cross-border real estate investments has provided new challenges for evaluation specialists and our work seeks to ensure regulations are at international standard, and that training is provided at the highest level."

Roy Frydling, head of Savills Germany, adds: "In sponsoring the Competence Centre for Real Estate Valuation, we are promoting excellent research and training in a most important business area. The issues concerning both national and international real estate evaluation methods are key, and we hope they will be reflected in Savills work but also within the wider industry."
