Date: 06 May 2008
National commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), has completed the multi-million pound turnkey project management for the fit out of a new distribution centre on behalf of the Hong Kong-based power tools manufacturer, RYOBI.
Charles Rowton Lee, Director at LSH's Oxford office, acquired the 167,000 sq ft unit at ProLogis Park, Didcot, the largest speculatively built distribution unit in Oxfordshire, on behalf of RYOBI in November last year, with the Building Consultancy Division leading the due diligence process.
Richard O'Reilly, Director in LSH's Building Consultancy Team based in London, said: "Our role has been to project manage the multi-million pound fit-out of the facility, including the racking solution, mezzanine, overall budget and programme on behalf of RYOBI.
"This was a challenging project involving the assessment of RYOBI's initial occupational requirements, managing the due diligence process and pulling together a team of specialists to complete the fit-out within tight timescales.''
David Napper, RYOBI's Operational Director, commented: "The input from LSH's Building Consultancy Division was invaluable. Their project management expertise enabled us to maintain core business operations as the programme progressed."
The new state-of-the-art distribution centre features a number of showrooms to demonstrate its products to customers and a training centre for power tool specialists, and will be used for the distribution of the Milwaukee, AEG, RYOBI and Homelite brands for the whole of the UK. RYOBI are a subsidiary of the TTI Group.
