Office design and installation company, asplanned, have secured a former mill building in Dundee city centre to house their new headquarters.

The design-led agency, which specialises in office design, refurbishment, and relocation, has outgrown their existing premises and the move will assist further expansion plans.

The ground floor 2000 sq ft unit in Exchange Court, Exchange Street, was purchased by asplanned managing director Andy Stewart and leased back to the company on a 10 year lease period, based on £12 per sq ft. JE Shepherd acted for the sellers and McLeish Properties and Rydens acted for the purchaser.

The building will be converted in to a show-office which will accommodate management, planning and design staff, and provide space to showcase the company's varied office furniture range and Italian designed partition systems.

Andy Stewart, asplanned managing director, said: "With more new clients coming on board each month we have outgrown our existing premises and this move is necessary to take the company to the next stage of its evolution.

"The city centre location is ideal for potential clients to come in and personally view some of the wide range of office furniture and partition systems we can offer and that is something we will be encouraging.

"The extra space also makes it more comfortable for our staff and gives us the facilities to recruit additional members to the asplanned team which is very much part of the business plan and integral to our goal of doubling turnover to £1.5 million."

In tandem with the summer move to Exchange Court, asplanned are looking for similar premises in Aberdeen where the company is enjoying increased sales.

Andy Stewart added: "Developing our market in Aberdeen is an important strand of our growth objectives and an office and showroom will strengthen the excellent start we have made in the oil capital.

"Our design director is based in Aberdeen and we want to cement our presence in the city with high quality premises which mirrors our operation in Dundee."

asplanned's clients include a wide range of UK blue chips and the company has recently managed large projects for international corporates in South Africa and Denmark.
