ISG - General Other - Sowerby Bridge
Date: 06 Aug 2008
ISG has been awarded a £320K project by Calderdale Council to carry out a fast-track refurbishment project at Carlton Mill, in Sowerby Bridge. The council occupies three floors of office space within the building, which houses its cash office and Adult and Community Learning / Youth Service facilities.
Work has now commenced on site, with ISG carefully phasing the project to minimise any potential disruption to council services and to enable staff to remain in occupation within the building throughout the duration of the refurbishment programme. The contractor will carry out minor demolition works within Carlton Mill and strip out and fully refurbish each of the three floors, installing new partition walls, suspended ceilings, new doors and floor finishes.
Space will be reconfigured and rationalised to provide modern open plan floor plates, with a number of closed offices created, along with new staff amenities, welfare facilities and kitchen areas. Existing mechanical and electrical services will also be replaced and updated, with the project scheduled for completion by late summer.
Craig Tatton, managing director of ISG's regional business, commented: "ISG continues to foster strong working relationships with key regional public sector authorities, securing an increasing volume of work due to our commitment to high quality, value driven contracting solutions. Across the business we work hard to maintain a growing portfolio of repeat clients, and our latest scheme with Calderdale Council reflects the continuing success of this strategy."
