Goadsby - Offices Letting - Bournemouth
Date: 12 Aug 2008
Regent Place is Bournemouth's newest office building and the first of its size to be built on a purely speculative basis in 20 years. The development by Ferndown based Ankers and Rawlings Developments Ltd is due for completion in September 2008 and comprises approximately 45,000 sq ft of Grade A space.
Forming part of a mixed used scheme, the offices have been let to Bournemouth University for their new state of the art Executive Business School. The school will be used for postgraduate education including a new flagship programme - The Bournemouth MBA. There will be high quality facilities for executive educational courses to serve the needs of the local and regional business community.
Professor Chris Brady, Dean of the Business School comments: "The Executive Business School will provide considerable benefits to the business community in Dorset, which will ripple out to others based nationally and internationally. The location of the building, situated near the Lansdowne Campus in the heart of Bournemouth's commercial district, will become a focal point for the local business community and an ideas exchange for the region.
"Recently we have been able to recruit top notch academics with the experience, expertise and drive to deliver the highest standards of business education and we are excited by this stylish, contemporary facility, which will strengthen our position as one of the best Business Schools in the South".
Bill Parker of Goadsby who negotiated the letting on behalf of Ankers and Rawlings comments "This letting is very exciting for Bournemouth and will enhance Holdenhurst Road tremendously. The site was used for car-parking and advertising hoardings for many years and Ankers and Rawlings have delivered an excellent product. Originally we were looking to let or sell individual suites and received good interest. The letting to the Business School, together with the 400 students who will occupy the adjoining building, currently under construction by Signpost Group, will add significantly to the vibrancy of the area. The ground floor of the student accommodation will also provide approximately 6,000 sq ft of retail space in two units which will further enhance the street scene."
The Executive Business School will be operational by September 2009. Joint agents on the scheme were Nettleship Sawyer.
