Loxley Land and Property - Mixed-Use Development - Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Date: 12 Aug 2008
Loxley Land and Property has announced that work at its 45 acre Beeley Wood multi-use site is now complete. The developer is inviting interest in the land, which is so vast it can accommodate around 25 football pitches making it one of the largest opportunity sites currently available in South Yorkshire.
Beeley Wood, the former Clay Wheels Industrial Estate, is located off Junction 35A of the M1 and was acquired approximately a year ago by LLP's parent company and Sunday Times Fast Track 100 organisation, Euro Dismantling Services (EDS). EDS used its considerable global expertise to carry out the intensive 24 month disinvestment project and has now transferred the cleared site into the portfolio of LLP, its recently launched property division.
Greg Lannon, Operations Manager for EDS, says; "Upon acquisition of Beeley Wood, the land was home to some 30 furbished buildings and large warehouses. We have now completed the dismantling of unsafe buildings whilst retaining others, some of which will be refurbished and ready to let, with much of the crushed material sent away to be recycled. The land is now approved for comprehensive B1 and B2 storage and is ready for a broad range of development."
Property Manager for LLP, Eldon Stevens, continues; "Beeley Wood is undoubtedly one of the most interesting developments within our property portfolio due to its suitability for such a wide variety of uses. Having the capacity to house a mass of hard standing storage means that the site lends itself well to industrial and commercial usage with the potential to house offices, technology and innovation or an environmentally friendly waste and recycling village. Our agents, Fowler Sandford and Atisreal are receiving daily enquiries about the land and we are not currently ruling anything out."
Creative Sheffield has been a supporter of the work being undertaken at Beeley Wood, monitoring progress over the last 12 months. Andy Topley, Director (Regeneration) at Creative Sheffield, says; "Beeley Wood is a significant site, close to a major area of population that can accommodate large-scale development. Recent new investment by companies in this locality demonstrates the strength of this location.''
