Hortons - Retail Letting - Birmingham
Date: 13 Aug 2008
Retail lettings in Birmingham's city centre continue to flourish for one of the region's premier landlords.
Hortons' has secured two deals for properties in Piccadilly Arcade and on Colmore Row, continuing the buoyant trend across its portfolio and signalling the merits of investing in prime locations.
Adding more choice and style to the trendy fashion outlets in Piccadilly Arcade will be Cielo, a new women's and men's fashion boutique which has agreed a five year lease at £13,000 per annum for its 260 sq ft unit.
Independent retailer Shabir Khan said that the Arcade's bustling atmosphere and the resurgence of shoppers to the New Street area were definitely deciding factors on choosing the location. The Arcade's art deco architecture also reflected Cielo's chic boutique style.
High footfall was equally important for pasta and salad deli bar Healthy Hunger, which has taken a 10 year lease on a 790 sq ft unit on Colmore Row at £37,000 per annum.
As owner Tom Jordan explained: "Finding the right type of unit in the heart of the business district was essential to us and we're looking forward to offering the professional community something a bit different and a tasty, yet healthier option to the traditional sandwich bar."
Fit outs are currently underway with both outlets set to open for business shortly.
