Sheffield architects are continuing their long-standing partnership with supermarket giant Morrisons following the successful completion of two schemes in Chester and Leeds.

Race Cottam Associates designed an extension to the Morrisons in Chester and the complete refit of the Merrion Centre store in Leeds.

Both multi million pound schemes were delivered in a challenging live environment, which meant ensuring the stores stayed open for customers whilst radical work took place.

The store in Chester has been extended into an existing car park whilst the store in Leeds has been completely re-floored. Both projects will increase retail space and create new amenities.

Race Cottam director David Cottam said: "Morrisons are a long standing client of ours for both new build schemes and the refurbishment or extension of existing stores, continuing the retailer's national programme of expansion."

Race Cottam is one of a select number of architects working on new stores and the major refurbishments on 6 locations across the country.
