Date: 20 Aug 2008

Industrial Ancillaries Ltd, an engineer's merchant currently located on Britannia Road in Chesterfield will relocate to 33,600 sq. ft of premises on the new development when their building is completed towards the end of this year.

The company, which employs 22 people, is one of the largest stockists of hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation products in the UK, and serves many different types of industry and customers in the domestic, European and Global Markets. The relocation to Markham Vale is part of ongoing expansion plans which will enable Industrial Ancillaries to extend its product portfolio to over 30,000 items from stock, and to add value to its customers by offering improved and new services. It will be the most significant move in the company's history which was started by Ray Harper from a single office located in the centre of Chesterfield in 1969.

Jamie Dennis, Managing Director comments: "The move will be very significant as it coincides with our fortieth anniversary. We have grown very consistently over the past four decades, and have more ambitious plans which our current premises can't accommodate. Markham Vale can offer us ideal premises with the right combination of warehouse and office space, and In addition, the development's location just off the M1 is convenient for our customers, and will really help with our logistics."

Ben Ward, Development Surveyor of Henry Boot Developments comments: "We are delighted to be making this announcement so early on in the development's build schedule. Industrial Ancillaries are a local company who need more room to grow their business and want to do so in high grade premises in a convenient location. We have worked very closely with them in order to ensure that all of their requirements for trading are met.

"As well as providing a wide range of speculative premises, Markham Vale will also assist companies who require design and build solutions to meet their operational needs, and it's this flexibility that is proving so attractive to businesses. We expect to be making more announcements about other new occupiers in the next few weeks," he added.

The creation of the Markham Vale scheme, which is being brought forward in conjunction with Derbyshire County Council, has entered a new period of progress following the recent opening of junction 29A on the M1, allowing convenient access.

The first tranche of development includes the "Green Giant", a 585,500 sq. ft industrial/distribution unit that boasts a wealth of eco-friendly features, along with a 100,000 sq, ft unit, also suitable for warehousing and distribution requirements. In addition, a series of terraced office units, ranging from 3,000 sq. ft will also be built in the initial phase, providing ideal accommodation for local companies wishing to relocate to modern premises.

According to Richard Harris of King Sturge, the appointed agent, enquiry levels remain high and mixed, coming from both international and local companies. He adds: "We are in talks with some very major players who see a wealth of benefits in locating a distribution facility in such a prime location. Equally, there is a good deal of interest from the local market who also require the easily accessible, high quality premises that Markham Vale offers."

The official launch of Markham Vale takes place on the 9th and 10th of July. The two day event will allow local authority representatives, commercial agents and potential occupiers the opportunity to see at first hand the benefits that the development offers.
