ISG Jackson - Offices Development - Ipswich, UK
Date: 03 Sep 2008
ISG Jackson Special Projects has reached a key milestone in its £4 million project to build high specification commercial office accommodation in the heart of Ipswich. James Hehir, Chief Executive of Ipswich Borough Council, joined RCP Investments Ltd, developer Targetfollow and its two agents, Bidwells and Savills, in a topping out ceremony to mark the completion of the highest point of the development, which is right on schedule and due to be completed by the end of the year.
The new four-storey Grade A office building being developed by Targetfollow on behalf of RCP Investments Ltd will see the rejuvenation of the former car park on Princes Street, opposite the iconic Willis building. Designed by Beanland Architects, the development has already attracted a pre-let from global real estate service provider Savills, who will occupy the ground floor and part of the first floor. Interest in the building has been strong, with a number of companies expressing interest in the remaining space, which extends from 1,294 to 7,204 sq ft.
Providing high specification office accommodation, the new building features large, flexible open plan floor plates, with raised access floors, suspended ceilings and LG7-compliant lighting. A video phone entry system will be installed and adequate on site secure parking facilities provided. Externally, the building features brick, stone and zinc cladding to its façade, with upper levels benefiting from pleasant open terraced areas.
Bernard Clarke, managing director of ISG Jackson, commented: "The project has been progressing exceptionally well and we have actually needed to move this important ceremony forward due to our rapid progress on site. With Grade A commercial office accommodation at a real premium within Ipswich, it is not surprising to see significant levels of interest in this new development and strong backing from Ipswich Borough Council."
Chris Penn, Portfolio Manager for Targetfollow said "We are delighted with the progress of the development and look forward to its completion. We are offering grade A office space in the heart of the business district of Ipswich."
