Date: 03 Oct 2008
Property consultants Alder King have attracted a national charity to the Merrywalks Shopping Centre in Stroud.
The ExtraCare Charitable Trust has taken Unit 32, a 600 sq ft retail unit located in the King's Mall entrance to the centre. The charity has leased the unit for a term of 10 years at a commencing rental of £15,500.
The ExtraCare Charitable Trust funds village communities which enable people to enjoy active and independent lifestyles in their later years. The charity currently operates 28 supported housing schemes and retirement villages throughout the greater Midlands area and the North. It has a network of fundraising shops throughout the Midlands and the Central South of England.
They will join nearby retailers in Merrywalks, Card Fair, Select Fashion, Eclipse and Abbey Bank.
Nigel Gibbons, partner at Alder King said: "Merrywalks is Stroud's covered shopping and leisure centre, which also includes the town centre's multi storey car park. Other tenants in the scheme include Argos, Wilkinsons, Home Bargains and New Look."
Alder King acted on behalf of the landlord Streetlands Ltd and the Extra Care Charitable Trust was unrepresented.
