Halegrove and Crown Properties - Malton, North Yorkshire
Date: 19 May 2009
A flagship £5.5 million North Yorkshire business park, which will create up to 200 jobs, has been unveiled.
Westfield Business Park, situated off Scarborough Road, Norton on the eastern outskirts of Malton, has just been granted planning permission for an imaginative mix of office and industrial units.
The business park is a joint venture between two developers, Halegrove of Easingwold and Crown Properties of Scarborough.
It will feature two distinct and very different developments. Halegrove Court comprises 21 brand-new office units, while Crown Park, its sister development, provides 14 new industrial units.
The office units, which are contemporary in design and will be built to the highest standards, range from 1,100 sq ft to 5,000 sq ft in size. They are for sale or lease, with freehold prices starting at £165,000.
The industrial units are designed to appeal to a wide range of new and established businesses. Twelve of the units are 1,500 sq ft, while two are 2,000 sq ft. They are also for sale or lease, with prices starting from £150,000.
Paul Brown, managing director of Halegrove, commented: "This is a tremendously exciting development, which will bring much-needed investment and jobs to the Malton area. We are looking to employ local firms and local labour during the three-year construction period and we would hope that local companies would relocate to our business park.
"This development would especially suit established companies wishing to move to bespoke new premises or start-ups wanting somewhere special to start off their business life.
"The location is fantastic. We are at the head of the Norton Grove Industrial Estate and our proximity to both Malton town centre and the A64 is a major selling point. Meanwhile the centre of Norton, with all its shopping facilities, is only a five minute walk away," he explained.
The launch of Westfield Business Park comes hard on the heels of Halegrove's success at its stunning 30,000 sq ft office development overlooking the Tees Gorge at Preston Farm by the A66.
The £5 million scheme provides 17 self-contained office buildings, ranging from 1,300 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft, which are available to buy or to let. Ten (this may have changed) of the units have now been taken.
"We have an excellent owner-occupier profile at Halegrove Court@Bowesfield on Teesside, including solicitors, architects, surveyors and a bank. Their presence underlines that this is a quality development and I am hoping this would be replicated at Westfield Business Park," said Mr Brown.
The agents for Westfield Business Park are MPC of Malton and King Sturge of Leeds.
