Atlas Ward - Leeds

Atlas Ward has been appointed by local construction company Morgan Ashurst to provide steelwork for a £27.1 million student accommodation complex for the University of Leeds.

The project consists of two student accommodation blocks - one eight-storeys and the other six-storeys high - at Mount Preston Street, Leeds.

Atlas Ward are responsible for the fabrication and erection of almost 750 tonnes of structural steelwork for this project and its footprint will measure approximately 187,809 sq ft.

The new buildings, which form part of Charles Morris Halls, will accommodate 457 en-suite bedrooms, as well as shared kitchens and lounge areas. The project will be situated around a courtyard garden.

The Charles Morris Halls scheme is due to be completed in June 2010.
