One of Westminster's architectural landmarks has been sold for in excess of £5m.
1-3 The Sanctuary, SW1, neighbouring Westminster Abbey is part of a Grade II listed neo-gothic Bath Stone terrace designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott. The Sanctuary is the headquarters of the elite law firm Lee Bolton Monier-Williams. Lee Bolton Monier-Williams have occupied the buildings for more than 150 years.
The legal practice in occupation, have acted for land owners for generations, the Archbishop of Canterbury and a number of diocesan bodies and cathedral chapters.
The practice has expanded into the interconnecting buildings as their practice has expanded into new areas such as; media and commercial property law.
A private pension fund managed by AXA, advised by Gerald Eve, sold the long leasehold of the 12,800 sq ft building to a private trust. This transaction reflects a net initial yield of 5.7%. The purchaser was advised by Drivers Jonas LLP.
