Yorkshire and Humber Minister Rosie Winterton has officially opened Origin 5, a pioneering new office building at the innovative Europarc on the outskirts of Grimsby.
The Minister opened Wykeland's Origin 5 on Genesis Office Park as part of a wider visit to Grimsby which included attending a North East Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce meeting, hosted in Origin 5.
Origin 5 is the fifth office building to be developed by Wykeland with support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) at Grimsby Europarc.
At the start of Wykeland's Development Partnership with Regional Development Agency Yorkshire Forward in 2004, Wykeland committed to create the first Grade A office space in North East Lincolnshire. The ERDF was instrumental in enabling the speculative development to happen.
Origin's 1,2 and 3 were consecutively developed speculatively by Wykeland over a three- year period and the successful letting of Origin 3 to UECC instigated the development of Origin 4 for Cosalt Plc and the further development of Origin 5.
Ms Winterton said: "This is a great example of what can be achieved though good partnership working between the public and private sector. The Origin 5 building is the latest high-class addition to the Europarc development.
"Aptly, it was Euro-funding of some £2.7million that has helped this and a further 140,000sq.ft. of speculative development off the drawing board. Developments such as this pump-prime local business and commerce, bringing employment and increased confidence to Grimsby."

The specification of each phase has been environmentally enhanced with the three most recent buildings incorporating solar water heating, rain-water harvesting, PIR lighting and smart metering in addition to raised access floors and combined heating, cooling and ventilation system.
The office is available to lease or purchase as a whole, with a net internal area of approx 10,245 sq ft, but it has also been designed to be let in up to 4 suites from 2,301 sq ft. Origin 5 is set within landscaped grounds and overlooks a 4-acre park with lake.
At a quoting rent of £11.75 per square foot it is believed that Origin 5 is the cheapest newly-developed Grade A office space in the country.
Knight Frank is marketing the office with Hull agent PPH Commercial.

Europarc is a 110-acre Business Park on the western outskirts of Grimsby. The site now contains nearly 750,000 sq ft of business space, with approximately 2,000 people employed and around £75,000,000 of private sector investment created.
Formed in Hull 40 years ago Wykeland have developed over 9 million sq.ft. nationally of which over 7 million sq.ft. has been in the Humber region. Along with Europarc Wykeland are currently developing the 90 acre Melton West Business park on the A63 and are bringing forward substantial regeneration projects in Beverley and Hull.
