Former Foxtons boss Jon Hunt has bought a retail and office block on Kensington High Street, W8 London.

Hunt who sold the UK estate agency for £370m, just three weeks before the market slumped, paid £16m to fund manager Hermes for the 28,700 sq ft MacMillan House. It is occupied by four retailers including Ryman, Laura Ashley, Cafe Concerto and Sole Trader and has 24,000 sq ft. of vacant office space.

It is understood the entrepreneur will refurbish the building and utilize the existing planning consent to create an additional retail unit as part of a reconfiguration of the office entrance.

Gerald Eve advised the purchaser and JLL acted for the vendor Hermes.
