There has been further success at Genesis, a newly-completed development of six compact business units at Tanners Drive, Blakelands, in Milton Keynes: expanding local company Rolec has just taken Unit 3 (1,400 sq ft/ 130 sq m) in a deal completed through agents Douglas Duff. Founded in 1976, the Rolec group offers a range of integrated electrical and multi-media systems, diversifying from traditional electrical roles to provide advanced high-tech solutions for the integration of lighting, data, audio and security systems.

"With three units sold last year soon after construction was completed, this leaves just two units available for sale or to let or via a newly-introduced lease-purchase option" commented Jonathan Whittle of Douglas Duff. "The quality and appeal of the Genesis business space has attracted thriving local businesses in difficult economic circumstances, and the vendor is offering an innovative lease arrangement with a freehold purchase option. This will provide flexibility for companies wishing to invest in their own premises during a period when bank finance is not easy to secure."

Dean Barrett, Managing Director of Rolec, said: "We viewed the Genesis development last year and were very impressed with the units and their ideal location to our Newport Pagnell head office. Unfortunately, the UK economy was sliding into recession at the time, and we held back on an initial outright purchase, waiting to see where the market was heading. By diversifying our core businesses and thanks to a strong team, we have continued to maintain our business position and saw a necessity to expand our current warehouse requirement. We immediately got back in touch with Jonathan, and with the benefit of the lease-purchase option, we have been able to quickly complete and occupy the unit.
