Lambert Smith Hampton wins Top National Agent award.

National commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), has been named Estates Gazette's Top National Agent in its annual 'EGi Deals Competition', for the eighth time in the nine years that the competition has been running.

LSH completed over 1,500 national property transactions in 2009, including industrial, offices and retail, with the firm's Leeds and Sheffield offices accounting for almost 10% of the total transactions completed during the year.

Guy Gilfillan, Head of LSH Yorkshire, said: "2009 was undoubtedly difficult year for Yorkshire's commercial property market. However, this award demonstrates that there is still a great deal of activity taking place across the region.

"Not only is it a fantastic accolade for us as a firm, it is a key indicator of the strength and importance of both our Leeds and Sheffield offices, and their ability to perform exceptionally well during these challenging times."

LSH's Leeds and Sheffield offices have been involved in numerous large deals across Yorkshire in the past year, including Sheffield Hallam University's acquisition of Oneleven Arundel Gate, the pre-let to Yorkshire Pegler at Brookfields Park and, more recently, Virgin Media's sale and leaseback at Sterling House in Seacroft.

Guy added: "LSH's Leeds and Sheffield offices have been named 'Top Regional Office Agent' across Yorkshire & Humberside for four years running, and we are hopeful of retaining this prestigious title when the results of EGi's North & West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire & Humberside competitions are announced later on in the year."

In addition to retaining the crown of Top National Agent, LSH also secured top place in five other categories:

Top Office Agents
Top Industrial and Distribution Agents
Top Regional Agency Overall - South East
Top Regional Agency - Offices - South East
Top Regional Agency - Industrial / Distribution - South East

Ezra Nahome, LSH's CEO said: "These awards recognise the high quality of expertise and client service across LSH's entire network. 2009 was one of the toughest years the commercial property market has experienced, making this fantastic achievement even more significant. It provides LSH with another enviable credential - a great testament to the commitment and dedication of all staff."
