Sandwich shop let in Sheffield for £10k per year.

A new Greggs sandwich shop is to open next to Sainsbury's on London Road in Sheffield.

Property consultants Alder King, acting with Newbould Commercial, let an 821 sq ft retail unit located within The Forge student village, UNITE's largest student accommodation development in Sheffield, to Greggs.

Greggs took the unit on a new ten year lease at an annual rent of £10,000. They are currently undertaking their store fit out and will open in April this year..

Greggs is the UK's leading bakery retailer, specialising in sandwiches, savouries and other baked goods. They have over 1,400 Greggs shops throughout the UK and serve over five million customers each week.

Douglas Paull, surveyor at Alder King acted on behalf of UNITE to secure the deal. Mr Paull said: "UNITE wanted to attract a retailer who could offer an additional amenity for its student residents and the local community. Greggs is a hugely popular retailer and we are very pleased that they have chosen this unit for their new shop in Sheffield. We are sure that their extensive range of baked goods will be very popular with shoppers and residents in London Road."
