King Sturge - Leeds, Victoria Quarter, Leeds

Date: 31 Aug 2010

Ted Baker extends lease in Leeds.

Flamboyant global clothing brand Ted Baker has confirmed its long-term presence in Leeds by agreeing an extension of its lease in the Victoria Quarter.

Ted Baker has taken a new 15-year lease on its existing 4,500 sq ft shop at 23-29 Queen Victoria Street at an annual rent of £290,000, with three months' rent free on completion of the shop fit.

King Sturge advised the landlord, the Bank of Ireland, while Orme Retail represented Ted Baker.

Jonathan Newns, Head of King Sturge In-Town Retail in Leeds, says: "Ted Baker's further commitment to the Victoria Quarter demonstrates the confidence it has in the city and this scheme in particular. The lease agreed is also a good indication of its faith in Leeds as, in today's market, the average lease length is generally about seven years."

Ted Baker also has a concession in the Leeds' House of Fraser store.

The Leeds office of King Sturge is one of the region's largest independent firms of chartered surveyors and property consultants with 70 staff providing property agency and investment services throughout Yorkshire and Humber and North Derbyshire.
