Briggs & Forrester - London, New Court, City of London

Date: 06 Sep 2010

M&E work on Rothschild's building, New Court, City of London.

Rothschild's third building on its historic City of London site has allowed the bank to bring together all its London employees in one place, to cater for its continuing expansion and to meet the communications and technological demands of 21st Century investment and private banking.

The new building provides over 140,000 sq ft of high quality office space. It will also accommodate an archive and research room for the Rothschild Archive, a roof garden and a Sky Pavilion offering panoramic views across the City.

The ground floor entrance area opens up pedestrian views to the famed Sir Christopher Wren Church of St. Stephen Walbrook and its churchyard - creating a transparency previously unheard of in this densely packed part of the City. The building consists of fifteen above ground levels, providing high quality office space as well as extensive staff and dining facilities.

Briggs and Forrester were responsible for the design co-ordination, installation, commissioning and handover of the mechanical and public health engineering services for the development, incorporating innovative construction processes and methodology, to benefit both the delivery programme and project environmental waste management and reduction targets.
