East Midlands Airport - Pegasus Business Park

Date: 12 Mar 1999

East Midlands Airport's prestigious new Pegasus Business Park will create up to 3,000 new jobs and provide a shop window for the East Midlands region along the Motorway M1 corridor.

Contracts between East Midlands Airport and the appointed developers, Wilson Bowden Properties, have been signed to develop a flagship 45-acre International Business Park at Junction 23A of the M1.

Planning permission for B1 and hotel uses on the site adjacent to the Airport was granted in July 1997 and initial plans include approximately 42,270 sq m of high quality office accommodation and a new hotel with conference facilities.

Paul Bagsnaw, Development Director, Wilson Bowden Properties said: "This is a significant new development which will provide a first class business location for the East Midlands region and we are pleased to have been the chosen developer."

East Midlands Airport's Commercial Director, John Froggatt added: "We are delighted to confirm our plans for this joint venture partnership with Wilson Bowden Properties and we are confident that the development will attract interest from companies throughout the UK.

"This show piece development is expected to attract investment worth over £50 million and we envisage the site to be developed over a five to eight year period.

"A number of potential occupiers have already expressed an interest in the site and we expect that construction will commence within the next few months."
