Building Design Partnership - Appointment - New Chairman For BDP's London Office

Peter Drummond BA (Hons) MRTPI, a director of Building Design Partnership and chairman of BDP Planning, has been appointed as chairman of BDP's London office.

Peter's background is in urban planning; he is a specialist in large scale planning and retail development projects. As planning director his recent projects have included advice to LPAC on changes to London's High Buildings and Strategic Views Policy and London's Urban Environment study for the Government office for London. He is currently leading the Bracknell town centre study, and the North Lambeth regeneration strategy.

BDP's London office of 230 people comprises all professions, covering town planning; architecture; civil, structural and services engineering; cost consultancy; landscape architecture; project management; lighting; interior and graphic design.

The projects currently in design in the office include the redevelopment of the Royal Albert Hall, Chatham Historic Dockyard, laboratories for Cambridge University, and for John Innes and Zeneca Agrochemicals, offices for BT; new academic and leisure facilities for South Bank University in partnership with Southwark and Lambeth Councils, Hampden Gurney Primary School in Marylebone; the Manchester Shambles redevelopment, a hospital in Cork and several European and international retail projects in cities as diverse as Madrid, Reykjavik and Beirut.

Recently completed London office projects include the world's largest NikeTown at Oxford Circus, the Neptune Court at the National Maritime Museum, the award-winning HQ for German motor manufacturer, Adam Opel, near Frankfurt, and St Peter's Campus for the University of Sunderland.
