Babers To Vacate 299 Oxford Street

Specialist shoe retailer Babers is to close its store at 299 Oxford Street in January 1999.

Jones Lang Wootton have been instructed by Babers to market the premises on a new lease. The property is located in the prime pitch on Oxford Street to the west of Oxford Circus, directly opposite the John Lewis Department store.

The store comprises 226.05 sq m (2,438 sq ft) at ground floor and 239.7 sq m (2,580 sq ft) at basement level. Jones Lang Wootton are quoting a rent of £675,000 per annum exclusive.

"The Babers store is in an absolutely prime location on the UK's leading retail street. This is the position where the top multiple retailers want to be. We already have strong expressions of interest on the first day of our marketing campaign."
