Healey & Baker - London SE16, Surrey Quays Shopping Centre

Acting on behalf of Shopping Centres Ltd, a joint venture between Slough Estates plc and Tesco, Healey & Baker has let unit 33 of Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, London SE16, to German coffee shop operator Tchibo on a new 15-year lease at a rent of £65,000 pax. As part of the deal Shopping Centres Ltd has made substantial improvements to the central mall area to provide Tchibo with an attractive seating area adjacent to its unit.

The 257,000 sq ft (23,875 sq m) Surrey Quays scheme is fully let to retailers, including to Tesco, BHS, Boots, River Island, WH Smith. However Shopping Centres Ltd is constantly looking at innovative ways of improving the centre.

Tchibo currently has 11 outlets in the UK. In total across Europe, it operates more than 1,000 outlets, with an additional 20,000 Tchibo centres in bakery outlets, retail stores and self-service counters in hypermarkets and supermarkets.
