Citex Group - General Other - MBE for Kevin Wilson

Kevin Wilson, Newcastle based Facilities Engineer for the Citex Group, has been awarded a MBE in the Queen's New Year Honours list for Services to Agriculture.
Kevin has been involved in the setting up and continuous support of DEFRA's Disease Emergency Crisis Centre in Kenton Bar, Newcastle where he has been working for the last ten months, since the outbreak of Foot and Mouth. Kevin's work providing infrastructure goods and services has enabled DEFRA to concentrate on the business of eradicating the disease in Northumberland.
The Citex/DEFRA contract has included refurbishing and refitting the Kenton Bar premises, re-housing staff and providing additional office accommodation, IT and telecomms for crisis centre personnel.
Kevin has worked for Citex for three years looking at the DEFRA sites in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland. Prior to this he worked for the Bank of England for nine years as Building Services Technician at the Bank's Newcastle branch and also for Dalkia working in energy management. He is married with one daughter.
Citex has worked with DEFRA setting up Disease Control Centres at Carlisle, Gisburn and Stafford.
