Chartwell Land - Yeading Retail Park

Date: 15 Jan 2002

Chartwell Land is delighted to announce the completion of a further phase of development on its Yeading Retail Park for a Comet Destination Store, and a drive-thru restaurant for Burger King.

The Comet Destination Store, comprising 2,322.5 sq m (25,000 sq ft), is expected to open in March 2002. Burger King has taken a 255.5 sq m (2,750 sq ft) restaurant on a 25 year lease at a rent of £94,000 per annum and opened for business last October.

The two units will trade alongside the B&Q Warehouse store developed by Chartwell Land that operates from 9,011.3 sq m (97,000 sq ft) with an additional 2,694 sq m (29,000 sq ft) externally. The completion of this further phase has now increased the total floor area of Yeading Retail Park to 14,283.4 sq m (153,750 sq ft).

John Marsh, Chartwell Land Development Director, comments, "We are delighted to have secured Comet and Burger King at Yeading Retail Park. It is the culmination of a long planning process through which we secured consent for both B&Q Warehouse and this further phase of our scheme. This has been a very successful development for Chartwell Land".
