Bedfordshire's smaller office and retail property sector demonstrates a firm commitment to the future, say agents Douglas Duff.
"We are receiving an increasing number of inquiries for freehold opportunities" commented Irene Dymond of Douglas Duff. "Many Bedford businesses are looking to consolidate and expand during 2002, and they have the confidence and investment strategy to buy their own premises."
If the New Year has started with a 'bad hair day', don't worry, for two local hair-dressers have expanded into larger salons:
Sapphire Hair has just moved to Ardor House, at the top of Bedford's High Street, where the first floor salon extends to 844.5 sq m (910 sq ft);
Style 90 has moved to adjoining premises of 94 sq m (1,009 sq ft) at 102 Queens Drive.
Other retail moves include casual clothing specialists Level 24 moving to Midland Road premises of 203 sq m (2,188 sq ft), and a former photographic studio extending to 368 sq m (3,960 sq ft) in River Street being sold freehold as a fireplace showroom, previous occupiers Olan Mills having moved to 15 Greyfriars.
