Spacia - Industrial Development - Manchester, Millow Street
Date: 11 Jun 2002
Spacia, the UK’s largest landlord for small businesses, has this week completed work on a new commercial property development for Manchester, bringing its total investment in the city to over £2 million in the past two years.
The scheme at Millow Street – just off Corporation Street, north of Victoria Station – will boost property provision in the area for the increasing number of SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in the city.
Spacia has refurbished five railway arches at a cost of £820,000 to create high specification business units. In total the scheme will provide 26,220 sq ft (2,438 sq m) of space suitable for workshop, light industrial or warehousing.
Stephen Barrie, Director of Spacia, comments: “Manchester offers a world-class business environment and is the UK’s largest economic hub outside of London, offering both a sound and exciting setting for small businesses. Millow Street offers flexible and affordable accommodation adding to the mix of business properties which help make Manchester such an attractive place to locate.”
Millow Street follows three regeneration schemes at North Western Street, Red Bank Court and Arena Court – a combined investment of over £1.2 million to refurbish railway arches to provide a total of 21,500 sq ft (2,000 sq m) small business space suitable for office, retail, leisure and light industrial use.
