Gleeson Properties - Industrial Letting - Oxfordshire, Thame 40
Date: 25 Jul 2002
Chilterns Distribution, distributors of appliances and kitchen peripherals throughout the South of England, and J & P Building Systems, part of Pfeifer, the German-based wire rope, anchoring and lifting systems group are the two latest companies to sign up at Thame 40. They join four other regional businesses that have also located to Thame 40, the southern M40’s successful industrial/warehouse development, and Thame’s first for 10- years. Two of the existing tenants also have German connections, and another has its parent company in Sweden.
J & P Building Systems will occupy the 842 sq m (9,066 sq ft) Unit 5 and Chilterns Distribution has signed for Unit 6, a 834 sq m (8,974 sq ft). Both businesses have taken 10-year leases at a rent of £75.35 per sq m (£7 per sq ft); the warehouses include approximately 12% offices.
Steve Davies, managing director of Gleeson Properties, that developed Thame 40 in a joint venture with Belgrave Land commented: “As we were getting close to completing the development earlier this year, businesses in the region made it clear that they would be queuing up to occupy the facilities once they were ready. Four lettings in as many months plus Atlet and Laminate Systems who located to the scheme prior to completion, prove the pent-up demand for new and top quality industrial/warehouse facilities amongst the area’s business community.”
Thame 40 is located on the western edge of the town, and has direct access to the Thame Ring Road that links to junctions 6, 7 and 8a of the M40, that are all within 7.5 miles of the development.
Brown Harknett International and Michael Fitzsimons & Company are joint agents on Thame 40.
