Great Portland Estates - Retail Letting - London SW3, Kings Walk Shopping Mall

Date: 02 Aug 2002

Great Portland Estates P.L.C. (GPE) has secured easyInternetCafe for its Kings Walk Shopping Mall in Chelsea, London SW3, which has taken 139 sq m (1,500 sq ft) on a 10 year lease at £37,000 per annum for its sixth central London internet cafe.

Just opened, the outlet will be the first in an adapted style of smaller easyInternetCafe which is particularly suited to franchise operations and would be easily transferable to any city location around the world. This outlet will provide 100 computers, bringing the total of computers available in London easyInternetCafés to 2,300.

easyInternetCafe is an easyGroup company, founded by Stelios who also created easyJet, easyCar, easyValue, easyMoney and easy.com. easyInternetCafe is the cheapest way to get online and provides high speed internet access, mostly 24 hours a day, in 23 stores in 8 countries over 2 continents.

Kings Walk extends to 4,459 sq m (48,000 sq ft) and is situated on the Kings Road in the heart of Chelsea. easyInternetCafe joins anchor tenants Virgin Megastores, Gap and First Sport.

Sam Shores of GPE comments:
“An operator of this kind will bring value to the centre as a whole by providing a leisure opportunity and increasing shopper dwell time. Other easyInternetCafes in London have proved enormously popular with locals and tourists alike and we are excited about the potential this new tenant holds for Kings Walk.”

GPE was represented by Dalgliesh while Jones Lang LaSalle acted for easyInternetCafe.
