NAI Gooch Webster - Industrial Sale - Lanarkshire, Cambuslang Investment Park

Date: 21 Aug 2002

A 120,000 sq ft distribution warehouse facility at Cambuslang Investment Park in Lanarkshire has been sold to Hays Distribution Services.

The property is set in an 8-acre site at 7 Clydesmill Place close to the M74 motorway and its new extension link to the south of Glasgow. It had been purpose-built for the former owners, Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd, in 1991.

NAI Gooch Webster handled the sale on behalf of Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd which is part of Six Continents plc Group.

Britvic is relocating to nearby Tannochside. Drinks distributers Tradeteam, who had occupied part of the Clydesmill Place building, have already moved to a new unit within Cambuslang Investment Park.

Alan Bell, Property Director of Six Continents plc, said: "This sale to Hays clearly demonstrates just how rare it is for large, quality distribution facilities such as this to become available North of the Border."

Neil Cockburn of NAI Gooch Webster commented: "Cambuslang Investment Park is recognised as a major strategic industrial and distribution development situated just five miles south east of Glasgow city centre. When this property was put up for sale it prompted considerable interest.

"The Park's location beside M74 motorway has played an important role in attracting occupiers like Robert Wiseman Dairies, Batleys Cash and Carry, Spicers and Menzies Distribution. The new motorway extension which will provide a fast link to Glasgow International Airport can only increase the attractiveness of the location."
