University of Newcastle upon Tyne - General - Hatton Gallery announces first major Terry Farrell exhibition

The Hatton Gallery, at Newcastle University, is to host the first major exhibition of the work of internationally-renowned architect and urban designer, Sir Terry Farrell.
The exhibition, which will include plans and models, together with photographs of finished commissions, will span forty years of Sir Terry's work, appropriately beginning with his 1961 final year project while at what is now Newcastle University's School of Architecture (the University also awarded him an honorary doctorate in Civil Law in 2000), and culminating in the Masterplan commissioned by the University from Terry Farrell and Partners (TFP) which includes the creation of a major 'cultural quarter' on its city centre campus.
The provisional list of exhibits is as follows:

2. Blackwall Tunnel Ventilation Shafts, London (1961-64);
3. International Conference Centre and Dean Gallery, Edinburgh (1995-97);
4. Clifton Nurseries, London (1979-80);
5. Vauxhall Cross, London (1992);
6. Embankment Place, Charing Cross Station, London (1990);
7. The Peak Tower, Hong Kong (1991);
8. The Deep, Hull (1999-2001);
9. Transportation Centre, Seoul (1992);
10. Northumberland Cross, London (1995);
11. International Centre for Life, Newcastle upon Tyne (1996);
12. East Quayside Masterplan, Newcastle upon Tyne (1991);
13. University of Newcastle upon Tyne 'cultural quarter' masterplan (2002).
During the exhibition, Sir Terry will be giving a public lecture entitled '10 years, 10 cities: from Newcastle, round the world and back again'.
