Fisher Hargreaves Proctor - Industrial Sale - Nottinghamshire, Newark, Northgate

Date: 01 Oct 2002

FHP City Living, of Nottingham, acting on behalf of their client, Boulder Construction Ltd, have successfully completed the sale of the former Warrick & Richardson Brewery on Northgate, Newark, Nottinghamshire.

The brewery site comprises some 3.27 acres and is located fronting the River Trent opposite the newly developed Kings Marina, adjacent to the newly established non food retail park, Northgate Retail Park.

The purchaser, Pathfinder Properties Plc, have acquired the property after extensive research into the site, recognising the potential that the site has to offer.

The brewery building, along with the Maltings towards the rear of the site, are most suitable for conversion into residential apartments, offices, bar/restaurant, leisure use, workshops and studios.

The former Northgate Brewery remains to be one of the last standing examples of the traditional brewing industries that the historic town of Newark on Trent is well known for.

It is not yet known as to the exact proposals for the site although it is thought that Pathfinder Properties Plc are proposing a new build and conversion to residential apartments. The development will sympathetically and appropriately utilise the site and its existing buildings to preserve and ensure that the historical asset of Newark shall remain for years to come.
