Lambert Smith Hampton - Retail Letting - Nottingham, 14 Exchange Arcade
Date: 01 Oct 2002
Atomic Interiors Limited has taken an assignment of 14 Exchange Arcade within Nottingham city centre, a unit that was previously occupied by Jones the Bootmakers.
Lambert Smith Hampton’s Nottingham office acted on behalf of Jones the Bootmakers and brokered the deal with Atomic Interiors.
The unit, which comprises a ground floor sales area of 483 sq.ft. with 381 sq.ft. of basement accommodation, was assigned to Atomic Interiors on the basis of a 25-year lease, which expires in September 2010. The rent passing is £22,000 per annum and the assignee was granted a small rent-free period to assist with re-fitting the shop.
Jonathan Emmerson of Lambert Smith Hampton’s Nottingham office, said:
“The unit is located within Exchange Arcade and is adjacent and close to major retailers such as: Oasis, Toni & Guy, Jaeger, Karen Millen and Warehouse. I received a lot of interest in the shop, which culminated in the letting to Atomic Interiors. Atomic are well represented already within the city, having stores in King John’s Arcade and also Plumtre Square, The quality of Atomic’s retailing operation and their shop-fit was a major factor in deciding to assign the lease to them”.
Jones the Bootmakers’ main store within Nottingham is located on Bridlesmith Gate and this unit will continue to trade.
Simon Siegel of Atomic Interiors, said:
“Exchange Arcade is one of the most prestigious locations in Nottingham, and will enable us to build on our strong and loyal customer base which has developed over the last ten years. I anticipate that our range of products will contribute the appeal of the Arcade and have a very positive effect”.
