Gazeley to build massive 675,000 sq ft distribution centre for John Lewis in Milton Keynes
Gazeley has signed a deal with John Lewis to develop a 675,000 sq ft build-to-suit warehouse.
The building will be located adjacent to John Lewis's other existing large 650,000 sq ft distribution centre at Magna Park Milton Keynes, which Gazeley completed back in August 2007.
Magna Park consists of 200 acres and has planning consent in place for 4.4 million sq ft. It is already home to the distribution centres of John Lewis and River Island, and is currently developing a new 265,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution facility for soft drinks manufacturer AG Barr.
This new facility, due to be completed late this year, will be used to further support the retailer's shops as well as support the rapid growth of its online business.
Alex Verbeek, UK Country Director, Gazeley, said:
"This deal further cements our relationship with one of the country's leading retailers and we're delighted to be working with John Lewis again as it looks to expand its distribution operations. The building has been designed to match the company's specific requirements and with planning consent already in place, we are on track to deliver on time and on budget.
